History

Benchmark Training Ltd was formed in 2005 to provide top quality, high volume and geographically dispersed training and managed services to both the public and private sectors with a specific emphasis on the transportation, security and defence sectors. Since then it has grown tremendously with the Company developing a wide range of standard and bespoke courses and services for its growing list of clients.

Our clients include Network Rail, Balfour Beatty, SERCO, Siemens, Alstom, Westinghouse and the UK Home Office and the Company now trains over 2,000 students a year on its leadership, communications, team building, change management, presentation skills, conflict management and many other courses. The Company is based in London but has a training centre in the heart of the Cotswolds and a presence throughout most of the UK.

Its leadership team is currently focussed on developing front line leaders in large organisations and within the public sector.

Communication Training

Benchmark designed and delivered voice communications training to over 27,000 rail industry personnel as part of Network Rail’s SAFETY 6 Programme and currently delivers a range of one-day safety critical communications courses. The company also provides voice communication coaching and mentoring services across the rail sector and has now expanded this portfolio into the Police, Private Security and the Retail sector.

Leadership and Management Training

Benchmark has a range of management and leadership training courses to suit lower, middle and top-level management needs. The courses, from 4 and up to 9 days in duration, are delivered at our Leadership Development Centre at Moreton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds as part of our Practical Leadership Programme. The emphasis is very much on developing leadership skills through practical training and applications.

Resourcing

Benchmark has recently branched out into resourcing, that is to say the provision of trained, experienced and extremely skilled staff as mentors, advisors and operators, able to work in
difficult situations at relatively short notice. We currently have a team deployed working with
the Home Office.
